Warhounds update

Hey so it's been a while since my last post and I've been slowly working on the warhounds army. I'm thinking of running either an orbital assault or pride of the legion rite of war for them. Anyway here's a few progress pics. I love cutting and converting, unfortunately however I tried probably a dozen paint schemes and couldn't settle on one. So as a result my good friend Wes is responsible for the amazing paint job on these guys.

Red butcher praetor

I had an idea hat involved converting a red butcher into a praetor. Basically I cut the legs off and repositioned them, then I used kharnes head.

B&C ETL IV warhounds pledge

Hey so I've decided to join the ETL IV from the bolter and chainswords 40k site. I've started my pledge with a spartan, 5 red butchers and 20 mrkii tactical marines. My hopes are to finish these in the first month and then pledge an additional 40 marines, 2 Spartans, 5 red butchers and a praetor or 2. 

The challenge I think is great for motivation and feedback with lots of positive support going on. I myself am not much of a gamer yet but as a hobbyist anything to get the motivation and creativity going is great.

Salamanders April challenge complete

I finished the salamanders at 8pm on the last night of the challenge, just in time. Here are some of the finished models, although I need to do bases.

More salamanders

I've recently become involved in the bolter and chainswords monthly painting challenge which involves painting a contemptor, 4 firedrakes and 10 tacticals. This is what I'm upto so far.

So aswell as having the warhounds on the go I've also got my salamanders project. Here's the first few models that I've painted.

So this is my praetor, I stole a firedrakes torso and hammer and shield.

I've also finished 5 tactical marines. Admittedly I'm a slow painter but such is life 😁

So this is the list that I am thinking of building for the tournament. I already have red butchers, apothecaries, 30 tactical marines and a spartan assault tank. They all need painting and in some cases assembly but its a start. 

30k painting and hobby challenge

So it's been a while since my last update due to work and other commitments. One of these said commitments is my latest foray into the Horus heresy. With the creation of the ACT of heresy event in January a challenge has been set to paint up a 2500pt 30k army.

For myself it's a chance to build a loyalist army of warhounds/ world eaters and accompanying fluff to go with them. Certain things I can't include will be kharn or Angron for obvious reasons and I will be building a list around the berserker rite of war. 

Anyways next post will be of a list to help figure out where to start and what to buy.

Finished wraithblades

So I've almost finished my first unit of wraithblades and I'm pleased with the one test model I did. Just have weapons and gems to do on the other 9 models aswell as transfers once I can find some.

Iyanden warrior painting trial

So this is just a trial of my ghost warrior paint scheme. I still have bit more to do but the yellow is done and I'm happy with it.

Back from holidays

So I'm back from my eurotrip with the missus and glad to be home 😁. While I was over there I gathered a large eldar army that I plan on stripping and painting as iyanden craft world. I have -

So these are 10 of each D-scythe, D-cannon and ghost axe with the shield.
